The project
My book 'AI, Animals, and Us' is due to be published early 2027 and I'll need to do various activities in the run-up - promotional outreach, content creation, building a platform on social media, etc. The exact details are still TBD at the moment so I'll need to confirm nearer the time.
The mentee's role
TBD depending on needs and mentees' interests, but could include e.g. researching people who could help promote the book and reaching out to them, helping prepare talking points for podcasts, providing feedback on (or ideas for) Substack articles, and helping create a book website with key AI x Animals resources.
Who I'm looking for

- Comfortable pushing back and giving constructive feedback
- Ideally someone with solid writing experience. Otherwise, happy with a broad range of experience and skills!

Hi! I'm a Senior Researcher at Animal Charity Evaluators. I co-write the Sentient Futures newsletter, recently co-led an AI x Animals funding round, and have written a book called AI, Animals, and Us (due to be published early 2027). I'm interested in a broad range of AI x Animals topics but particularly farmed animals, wild animals, and how the animal movement should be reacting to rapid AI progress. This is my third time as a Sentient Futures mentor.
